🏊🏼‍♂️🧗🏼‍♀️KS2's Residential Highlights 🏹🐂

8th Jun 2026

What an incredible two days our P5, P6 and P7 pupils had on their residential trip last Thursday and Friday!

Our adventure began on Thursday at Splash. Although the weather wasn’t quite on our side, it certainly didn’t dampen our spirits! The children had a fantastic time tackling the obstacle course and racing down the slides. They also enjoyed the opportunity to try canoeing and kayaking, showing great enthusiasm and teamwork throughout.

After all that excitement, we grabbed some lunch and relaxed with a screening of Shrek 2. Later that evening, we arrived at our accommodation where everyone was very excited to get their beds made and settled in for the night. Dinner was kindly donated by the Pupil Council, where we enjoyed a delicious meal from The Golden Chip, Moneymore.

We then spent a relaxing evening together in the lounge playing games and sharing lots of laughs after a busy day. I’d love to say it was an early night, but with the amount of sweets consumed, that may not be entirely true!

Friday morning saw us up bright and early for another action-packed day. We started with a delicious breakfast kindly donated by Breakfast Club before heading to The Jungle.

The children took part in a huge range of exciting activities including paintball target shooting, rock wall climbing, quad rides, archery, laser tag, bungee trampolines, pedal boats, the 40ft tree jump and the rodeo bull. Throughout the day, the children showed tremendous bravery as they stepped outside their comfort zones and challenged themselves to try new things. In fact, with lots of encouragement from the children, they even convinced Miss McClung to overcome her fear of heights and complete the 40ft tree jump!

After enjoying a delicious meal at The Jungle, we finished our trip with the Treetop Adventure Course, where teamwork, encouragement and perseverance helped everyone make it around the course successfully.

There was so much encouragement, resilience and determination on display throughout the trip. The children continually supported one another, cheered each other on and celebrated each other’s successes.

I would also like to thank all of the children for their excellent behaviour, manners and positive attitude throughout the residential. They were a credit to themselves, their families and our school. Their willingness to help with cleaning up and washing dishes after meals was greatly appreciated.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this residential trip possible. The children created wonderful memories, developed new skills and, most importantly, had an unforgettable time together!
