Busy Bees
This week we were learning all about bees and just how important they are. We began our day doing a collaborative bumble bee art piece. We then learned about the different parts of honeybees and how this helps them do their job in the hive. Miss Freeburn brought in her beekeeper's veil and gloves and taught us how to stay safe as a beekeeper. She even brought in some of her own yummy honey and let us taste it! In the afternoon, year 4 and 5 drew plans of the outside of school and thought about different things that Walker could implement to support bees, such as planting brightly coloured flowers, fruit trees and providing them with a safe watering dish to take a drink.
