KS2 have been exploring how to write clear and effective instructions. Taking inspiration from our class novel, How to Train Your Dragon, we began by discussing why instructions are so important and identifying the key features that make them successful.
Through a fun paired talking and listening activity, we discovered that the best instructions are precise and easy to follow. Armed with this knowledge, the pupils then had the exciting challenge of writing their very own set of instructions on how to catch a dragon!
The children showed fantastic creativity and imagination. There were nets, traps, bait, and even teamwork strategies involved! It was wonderful to see everyone using their writing skills in such a fun and engaging way.
