KS2 Get Active with Decimals

24th Feb 2026

KS2 have been busy brushing up on our decimal skills.

Using skipping ropes, we created a giant human number line as part of our Outdoor Learning. The ropes marked out our whole numbers and we became the decimals!

Working together, we carefully ordered decimal tenths and hundredths by placing ourselves in the correct position between two whole numbers.

We had to think carefully about place value to position ourselves accurately on the number line, explaining whether our decimal would round up or down and why.

There was lots of discussion, teamwork and brilliant mathematical thinking on display.

It was fantastic to see everyone so engaged, active and confident while developing their understanding of decimal place value.
