KS2 Investigate Local Traffic
As part of our outdoor learning, KS2 took to the streets of Castlecaulfield to collect real-life data on local traffic.
Pupils gathered information during both the morning and afternoon, before returning to school to compare results.
Our findings revealed that cars were by far the most common vehicle on the road, and the afternoon proved to be noticeably busier than the morning.
Using the data, pupils created bar graphs to show the difference in traffic volume between vehicle types. P7 then took things a step further by drawing line graphs in ten-minute intervals to identify exactly when traffic peaked.
Not only did we develop our numeracy and data-handling skills, but we also loved getting out into the community. The highlight was definitely receiving a few friendly beeps from passing lorries! 🚛🎉
