WW2 Letter Writing
As part of our Literacy today, we took a step back in time, travelling to the year 1940 during World War II. During ‘Hot Seating’ we asked Jacob questions about what it was like being evacuated during that time.
We imagined ourselves on the train journey, travelling far from our families, and arriving at our host family's home. We discussed what the surroundings might have looked like, what the people might have been like.
We then planned our letters to our mother and father back home, sharing our thoughts and experiences from this new chapter in our lives. Tomorrow, we will be writing these letters, expressing how we feel about the journey and the adjustment to our new life in the country.
